Campfire Biscuits
My family and I just recently came back from a camping trip. I made these biscuits a couple of days ahead of time, wrapped them individually in tin foil, and froze them. I wish I had been able to take a picture of what they looked like after they had been cooked, but the battery on my phone was nearly dead. I know they don't look like much in the picture, but these biscuits turned out so good! The outside was perfectly golden brown(on most of them) and the inside of the biscuits were light and fluffy.
To make these biscuits, you will need:
*2 cups all-purpose flour
*2 tbsp baking powder
*2 tbsp sugar
*1/2 tsp sea salt
*1 stick of butter
*1 cup milk
In a food processor, add in the first five ingredients. Pulse until the butter is about pea size. Add in the milk and pulse just until everything is combined.
Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead gently a few times. Cut dough into squares with a knife, wrap individual biscuits in tin foil. Repeat until all biscuits have been wrapped. Place inside of a gallon sized freezer bag and store in the freezer until you pack up your food for your camping trip!
Once you place these biscuits on the fire, turn them often so they don't burn. It'll take about 15-20 minutes for them to cook. Enjoy!
