Hearty Sausage Biscuits

If you are looking for a good hearty biscuit that is fluffy at the same time, then this is the recipe for you!  This is one of my absolute favorite recipes.  So much better than any pre-made canned biscuits you buy at the store.

These biscuits are so incredibly tasty and simple to make, they come together in no time.

You will need:
*1 cup all purpose flour
*1 cup bread flour
*2 tbsp sugar
*2 tbsp baking powder
*1 tsp baking soda
*1/2 tsp salt
*4 tbsp butter
*1/2 cup sour cream
*1 cup half and half
*1 cup cooked sausage
*1-2 tbsp Gorgonzola cheese for top (optional)

Place butter and flours in a food processor and combine until butter is about pea size or smaller.  If you don't have a food processor, no worries, you can mash everything up with a fork.  A food processor just makes life easier.  Place mixture in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400°F.  Take mixture out of the freezer and combine the remaining ingredients except the Gorgonzola into a large mixing bowl.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.   Scoop about 1/4 cup of mixture onto the pan and top with 1-2 tsp of Gorgonzola. Repeat until you run out of biscuit mixture. Don't crowd the biscuit mixture on the pan, they need room to spread out as they bake.

Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes, then enjoy!
